I have been slowly processing the idea on how to integrate computer based data searching into the mind map concept. My current view is that the 2D mindmap presentation would be an ideal tool for human intelligence-based recognition of possible points of intervention, whereas computers would provide a handy tool for quickly testing the relevance of different new ideas and also help in recognition of new connections between existing nodes, making it possible to heuristically modify the topology of the 2D map.

The starting point I have in mind is a list (a few hundred items long) made of concepts recognized from the mind map. This would be developed into a full nxn coincidence band matrix by coding a search robot to collect files for each concept and calculating which concepts are found together in the same article. How to go on from there, I haven't yet thought of.
